Message Discipline: Trump 2024
As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero.
Happy (early) Thanksgiving!
Rather than something serious (the planned post on post-war population transfers) or serious speculation (the relationship between timetravel and ritual magic), I am going for a wild focus group today. Please give your thoughts in the comments.
Which of these messages (in the form of a television commercial) would be most likely to decrease Donald Trump’s support in the 2024 Iowa Caucuses?
Pitch A
Donald Trump once was master of The Apprentice, but today he’s simply The Biggest Loser. He said he could defeat the Deep State, and he failed. He said he could defeat Joe Biden in the last election, and he lost. He can’t even get his Twitter account back. This time, the Republican Party needs a candidate who isn’t a loser.
Pitch B
In 2016, God’s only son found a brother. Donald Trump is the leader we need in this immoral modern world. But in 2020 he was cruelly robbed of the presidency by the agents of senile Joe Biden. Now we can make things right. All good Iowans must follow the call of Jesus Christ, who has sent Donald Trump to lead us into glory.
Pitch C
There is a crisis in American politics. The American people want less immigration, but politicians want more immigration. Donald Trump said he would do something in 2016, but didn’t accomplish anything. In fact, he continues to hire immigrants to work in his hotels. We need a Republican candidate in 2024 who isn’t making money off of immigration.
Pitch D
If Donald Trump is elected, I will fight for California to secede from the United States.
That line would be repeated by half-a-dozen different Californians. At least one of them would be a high-profile entertainment-industry figure, and at least one of them an elected politician.
Protect the Union. Dump Trump.
